امام مہدی علیہ السلام نے اپنی ایک توقیر (خط) میں اپنے پیروکاروں کو نصیحت کی ہے: ’’میرے ظہور کے لیے زیادہ سے زیادہ دعا کرو کیونکہ اسی میں تمہاری نجات ہے‘‘ (کمال الدین، ص 485، ح. 4) روایات میں اس بات پر زور دیا گیا ہے کہ امام کے ظہور کے لیے امام کی ذمہ داریوں میں سے ایک یہ بھی ہے
